Here is my translation of the psalm paraphrase, “Wenn Gott einmal erlösen wird” (Cornelius Becker, d. 1604), based on Psalm CXXVI, In convertendo Dominus, with title “God turns sorrow into joy . . . A song in the higher choir” and melody assignment “Christ, der du bist der helle Tag.”
WHEN God some day redeemeth those
Led forth from Zion by her foes,
And sets the captive people free,
How great shall then their gladness be!
2 There shall they joyfully ascend,
Of boasting there shall be no end
Then shall they to the heathen say,
See what the Lord hath done today!
3 The Lord hath done for us great things,
Wherefore the people gladly sings,
We joy in God with thankfulness,
Who saved us out of all distress.
4 Turn, Lord, our dread captivity,
As at the Red Sea formerly
Thou by an east wind driedst the ground,
Thy people passed through safe and sound.
5 All they that sow in tears shall come
They shall return in gladness home,
Thy love and grace shall make them leap,
They shall a joyful harvest reap.
6 With tears the field is fertilized
That bringeth forth the seed so prized,
From which with heart rejoicing then
The sheaves of life are gathered in.

Wenn Gott einmal erlöſen wird,
Die aus Zion ſind weggeführt,
Und die Gefangnen machen loß,
Wie wird da ſeyn die Frewd ſo groß!
2 Man wird in Sprüngen gehn herein,
Des Rühmens wird kein Ende ſeyn,
Man wird den Heyden ſagen an:
Seht, was der HErr an uns gethan.
3 Der HERR hat Guts an uns gethan,
Des frewet ſich ein jedermann,
Wir ſind fröhlich in unſerm Gott,
Der uns errettet aus aller Noth.
4 Wend ab, HERR, unſer Gfengniß ſchwer,
Wie dort, da du das Rothe Meer
Durch Oſtwind trockneſt aus zu Grund,
Daß dein Volck hindurch gehen kunnt.
5 . All die mit Threnen ſeen aus,
Kommen mit Frewd wiedrumb zu Hauß,
Wenn ihnen deine Güt und Gnad
Fröhliche Ernd beſcheret hat.
6 Mit Threnen wird das Feld getüngt,
Das doch ſo edlen Samen bringt,
Drauff man hernach mit fröhlichm Muth
Sammlet des Lebens Garben gut.
