Mir ist was fröhlichs jetzt gesagt

 Psalm CXXII.
A hymn of David in the upper choir.

¶ It is a psalm of thanksgiving that God has granted His Word in its purity, instituted the holy preaching office, and given grace to the end that one may teach and hear. It desires that God may preserve these from generation to generation, and grant peace and prosperity thereto.

Felicitas Jerusalem.

Daß größte Glück der Kirchen ist,

daß man drin predigt Jesum Christ,

der bringt den Fried und ewigs Heil

im Glauben wird uns solchs zu Theil.

Jerusalem’s Prosperity.

The church prosperity doth win

When Jesus Christ is preached therein,

Who peace, salvation to her brings,

And she by faith partaking, sings.

Mel.: Mag ich Unglück nicht widerstahn.

GLAD tidings now I hear men tell,

Which please me well:

Let us seek God’s house yonder,

To hear God’s Word and promise sweet,

And place our feet

In Salem’s gates with wonder.

Jerusalem, / God as a gem

Hath builded fair, / a city where

Men might to Him be gathered.

2 Yea, thither shall the tribes ascend,

And God attend,

To hear God’s sacred story,

To preach God’s Son, by whom we live,

And thanks to give,

Unto His name, and glory.

There thrones are set / for judgment yet,

The thrones of all / King David’s hall,

For God’s own purpose holy.

3 Pray peace upon Jerusalem!

Upon all them

That love God’s church sincerely

Prosperity shall them betide,

And peace abide

Within her walls, loved dearly.

God’s peace indeed / and balm in need,

Grace and success / attend and bless

Her palaces forever.

4 I for my friends’ and brethren’s sake

This utt’rance make,

And wish all peace within thee,

And gladness and prosperity

Abundantly,

And hymns resounding in thee.

Yea, I, though weak, / will strive and seek

Thine every good, / as the abode

Of God, our Lord eternal.
